Shattered glass nails

Kto ich nemal, nebol cool. A kto ich doteraz neskúsil, nevie o čo prišiel!


Koncom minulého roka sa začali na mňa z každej strany valiť nechty pokryté kúskami iridiscentnej fólie - najnovší veľký trend prichádzajúci z Južnej Kórei. Nemohla som ostať pozadu ;)


If you haven't tried them, you aren't cool and definitely missing something!

I saw these nails covered in shards of iridescent foil - the newest huge trend from South Korea - so many times on all social medias last year. And I couldn't stay behind ;)



Základom tohoto nail artu je tenká priesvitná dúhová fólia / celofán. Nail artové obchody okamžite zareagovali a do svojej ponuky práve takéto fólie zaradili. Ja som si tie moje objednala z Born Pretty Store. Brala som si rovno dve rôzne a priznám sa, chcela by som všetky :)


This nail art is created with thin translucent iridescent foil / cellophane. Nail Art stores responded immediately and started to sell these foils. I ordered mine from Born Pretty Store. I grabbed two different designs but I liked them all :)



Jedna z nich má ružový a druhá modrý základ na ktorom je nanesená meňavá iridescentná vrstvička. Obe sú jemne "fľakaté", čo im len pridáva na zaujímavosti.


One of them has pink and the other blue base coated with color shifting layer. They are both bit 'patchy' and this effect makes them even more interesting.



Ešte pred lakovaním som si fóliu nastrihala na drobné trojuholníčky. Odporúčam rozstrihať ich na kúsky menšie ako nechty. Dosť ťažko sa obstrihávali po tom, čo som si ich nalepila na nechty.

Prvý raz, keď som túto manikúru skúšala som to podcenila a vypomstilo sa mi to odliepaním jednotlivých kúskov.


I cut the foil into little triangles before I started doing my nails. I recommend cut them beforehand and make them smaller than your nails. And I found it hard to trim them when they were already on the nails.

When I did this nail art for the first time they sticked out and after few hours they started to peel off.



Zhodou okolností som si kúpila podobnú iridiscentnú kozmetickú taštičku modrej farby, ktorá ma samozrejme donútila k tomu, aby som išla do drogérie hľadať rovnaký odteň modrej, lebo nič podobné som doma nenašla.

V obchode sa mi však vybil telefón a nakoniec som lak kupovala úplne naslepo. Asi si viete predstaviť tú radosť, keď som doma zistila, že som sa dokonale trafila ;) A tým lakom je Blindfold Me Blue od Rimmelu.


By coincidence I bought similar blue iridescent cosmetic bag and of course that I had to go find the same blue polish because I haven't got anything similar in my stash.

And when I was in drugstore my phone died and I had to blindly pick the right shade of blue. Just imagine the happiness when I got home and the color was total match ;) It's Blindfold Me Blue from Rimmel.



Po tom, čo som si nechty nalakovala modrým základom som ešte do mokrého laku ukladala jednotlivé trojuholníčky. Celé dielko som zaliala poriadnou vrstvou nadlaku, no po pár hodínách som musela pridať ešte jednu, aby bol povrch nechtu úplne hladký.

Výsledný efekt bol veľmi svieži a pripomínal mi západ slnka, keď sa obloha farbí do pastelových odtieňov ružovej, žltej, zelenkavej a modrej :)

Iridiscentné kúsočky však môžete nalepiť na akúkoľvek farbu a experimentovať tak s výsledným efektom. Najviac vyniknú na čiernej, ale to je klasika. Fantasticky vyzerajú na bielom základe alebo na telovom laku.


After I painted my nails blue I started to place my triangles of foil into wet polish. Then I added a good layer of top coat but after few hours I had to add another one so the surface of my nails was nice and even.

The final result was really fresh and it reminded me of a sunset when the sky is changing from pastel blue through green, yellow and pink :)

You can add iridescent pieces over any colored base and experiment. The stand out the most on black polish - that's a classic. But the look awesome on white or nude base.
